I’m very interested in how advertisement and media can create false realities, when one thinks about physical appearance. With the figures created with a distorted body shape. I feel a certain empathy as I have been on a diet and have shed a few pounds and layers of skin. Working on my body image has been a struggle so creating sculptures that have the appearance of skin, is like working with my own body image. The faceless sculpture is made to represent any person, the void in the face a vessel to take in more information.
