I decided I wanted to create a light hearted and interactive sculpture; called Play. While in the possession of numerous peroxide bottles and scraps of fun fur, I pondered how I might use them. I wanted to express the other part of my life as a hairdresser. I started with cutting the bottle tops off and putting tops together to create a mechanism that spins. In looking at the bare surface of the bottles I decided to attach fun fur as a reference to hair. Their many colors, textures and lengths always reference hair to me. This became an exciting playful exploration, a sensory world of color, an alluring audience participation. This participation is similar to a symbiotic relationship I have with my clients.
